In addition to her work as food editor of major Canadian magazines (My Advantage, Expressions, Homemaker’s, Elm Street and Canadian Family are just a few), Julia is a cookbook editor for leading Canadian publishers, including Random House, Whitecap and Madison Press Books. Among the authors she has edited are Penelope Casas (One Pot Spanish) Jennifer Bain (The Toronto Star Cookbook), Rob Rainford (Rob Rainford’s Born To Grill), Mairlyn Smith (Healthy Starts Here!), Rod Phillips (The 500 Best-Value Wines in the LCBO, 2009 and 2010 editions), and Kathy Guidi (Canadian Cheese: A Pocket Guide).

Julia’s specialty is editing chefs’ recipes so that professional-level dishes can be recreated in the home kitchen without losing a chef’s authentic voice. Among the chefs she has worked with are Tony De Luca (Simply in Season), Robert Clark and Harry Kambolis (C Food) and Nigel Didcock (Granite Club: Capturing the Spirit).
